Job Description
- Provide general support to the Hong Kong legal team working closely with other CRO colleagues in Hong Kong, Singapore and Zurich
- Assisting on commercial litigation (including pre-litigation matters), investigation and complaint cases, including document collection and liaising with internal stakeholders on email and voice log retrievals
- Assisting with preparation for and participation in steering committee meetings, management meetings and internal investigation interviews
- Conducting legal research and other company or legal searches
- Co-ordinating with outside counsel, third party service providers, internal stakeholders and other 3rd parties (including complainants and/or their solicitors) on issues arising from complaint cases, investigations, litigation, Court orders and personal data requests received by the Bank from time to time.
- Assisting in internal legal updates and maintenance of internal CRO databases
- Assisting on general advisory work relating to the private banking business (including queries relating to Deceased Accounts, account opening, data access requests)
- Document filing, billing and knowhow management
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor of laws or equivalent legal studies or currently studying for LLB/JD/PCLL
- Strong command of spoken/written English and Chinese (including Mandarin)
- Ability to work independently and detail oriented
- Good sound judgement on a day-to-day basis regarding assigned and ad hoc duties
- Possess priority setting and problem-solving skills
- Good Microsoft Office software knowledge and skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task, and capable of working under time pressure
- Prior experience in a law firm or legal department (preferably in banks)
